RAG (Raise and Give) Week: 17 - 21 November 🎉

Get ready for one of the most exciting weeks of the school year! From Monday 17 November to Friday 21 November, we’ll be celebrating RAG (Raise and Give) Week — a full week of fun, fundraising and community spirit.

Organised by Head Student Riley H with the help of our amazing Prefect team, RAG Week is all about coming together to raise awareness and vital funds for the NSPCC, while enjoying a timetable of activities, challenges, and dress-up days.

There’ll be something for everyone to get involved in — so bring your energy, your generosity, and your best fancy-dress ideas!

RAG Week Themes & Activities

Monday – Career Day & Sponsored Walk
Form time will include a career-themed quiz, and at lunch, students can take part in the “Career Ladder” challenge in the main hall, guessing the previous occupations of teachers.
In celebration of the Jubilee Year of Hope, students will also take part in a Sponsored Walk — our “Roaming to Rome” challenge. This event symbolises a collective journey of hope and charity, as our school community joins together to mark the close of the Jubilee Year. Funds raised will go directly to the NSPCC, helping to protect children and support families across the UK.

Students may wear their school sports kit for the day, including their school polo top. Weather-wise, we advise blue joggers, though blue PE shorts may be worn if preferred. A plain blue hoodie may be worn for warmth if needed.

Tuesday – Fictional/Movie Characters Day
Form time will feature a movie quiz, and at lunch, students can join in the “Guess the Movie Scene” game in the main hall.

Wednesday – Green/Eco Day
Form groups will complete an Eco-awareness quiz and take part in a Zero Waste Lunch Challenge to promote sustainability and recycling.

Thursday – Sports Day
A sports-themed quiz will run during form time, and there will be a short lunchtime activity in the main hall celebrating school sport and teamwork.

Friday – 90s Day (Dress-Up Day)
Our big finale! Students and staff are invited to come dressed in 90s-themed outfits for a suggested donation of £1 to the NSPCC. During lessons, there will be a “Guess the Baby Teacher” competition, and lunchtime will feature the Year 12 vs Year 13 Basketball Match.

This is a fun activity, but all dress must be suitable for a school setting, and the Headteacher’s decision on what is and isn’t acceptable is final.

Fundraising & Donations

All money raised will go directly to the NSPCC, helping to protect children and support families across the UK.

  • Donations for the non-school uniform day on Friday will be £1, payable via ParentPay or cash in collection buckets.
  • Students can also donate throughout the week during lunchtime activities — every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.

Save the Date – Annual Carol Service

We’re delighted to announce that our annual Carol Service will take place at St Francis Catholic Church, Maidstone, on Wednesday 17 December, from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.

It’s always a special evening filled with music, reflection, and festive spirit as our school community comes together to celebrate the joy of Christmas.

Further details and booking information will be shared soon – but for now, please save the date!
