Careers in Context Day: Unravelling the Mystery

On Wednesday, 10 July, our Year 10 students embarked on an intriguing and educational journey during our Careers in Context Day. The day was designed to engage students in a practical and immersive experience, blending learning with a thrilling 'murder mystery' challenge.

The scenario was set: Mr Fishman had been murdered, and the crime scene was secured. The students were tasked with solving the mystery by the end of the day. To uncover the truth, they attended various Sixth Form classes, each incorporating subject-specific tasks that provided clues and helped eliminate suspects from the list.

Throughout the day, students delved into a range of disciplines, from science and further mathematics to history and psychology. Each class offered unique insights and problem-solving opportunities, enhancing their critical thinking and analytical skills. The interactive approach not only made the learning process engaging but also demonstrated the real-world applications of their subjects.

By the end of the day, the students pooled their findings, pieced together the clues, and applied their newfound knowledge to identify the murderer. The excitement and collaboration among the students were palpable, making the Careers in Context Day a memorable and enriching experience.

Congratulations to all our Year 10 detectives for their hard work and enthusiasm. Your ability to integrate knowledge from different fields to solve a complex problem was impressive. A big thank you to our wonderful staff - suspects, crime scene detectives and murder victim - who made this event possible.
