Exploring Opportunities Beyond: Students Thrive at College Campus Visit!

On Wednesday 24 April we were invited to bring a mixed group of Year 9 and 10 students to the Oakwood Park campus of MidKent College.

This was an opportunity for students to explore a further education setting and consider courses that we do not offer here at St Simon Stock. Students completed practical activities in a range of curriculum areas including; brick laying, hair and beauty, electrical, plumbing, hospitality and catering, carpentry, business, travel and tourism and motor vehicles.

Our students learned, among other skills, how to solder a copper pipe, lay bricks, handle tools, ice biscuits and apply make-up looks which were worryingly realistic!
