GCSE Food Tech Students Serve Up a World of Flavours
This term, our talented GCSE Food Technology students put their skills to the test in their final practical assessments, creating impressive three-course meals that could serve as an alternative menu for our school restaurant. Their challenge? To prepare nutritious, well-balanced dishes while carefully considering sugar content, calorie counts, and overall health benefits. Not only did the meals need to meet these nutritional standards, but they also had to appeal to the varied tastes of our students, ensuring a balance of flavour, texture, and presentation.
Adding an exciting global twist, students explored flavours from all over the world, producing an incredible variety of dishes. From the vibrant spices of India and Thailand to the comforting classics of Italy and France, and the bold tastes of Mexico and America, their creativity knew no bounds. We also saw delicious inspirations from Japan, China, the Philippines, and Poland — each meal reflecting careful planning, technical skill, and a deep understanding of international cuisine.
Although we are unable to share photos of these mouth-watering creations due to exam regulations, we look forward to showcasing them after results day in August. Be sure to check back then to see the incredible work of our budding chefs!
Well done to all our students for their hard work and dedication — your culinary talents have truly impressed us!
