Shaun the Sheep update
As many of you will remember back in 2021 our students took part in painting an Elmer the Elephant statue for the Elmer's Big Heart of Kent Parade. This year, it has made a comeback, and the selected statue is Shaun the Sheep. Our Stocky students have been busy painting our very own Shaun the Sheep statue. His design is Top Secret - so no pictures yet! All will be revealed in due course!
I'm thrilled to announce that we'll be delivering the completed, vibrant Shaun the Sheep to the Heart of Kent Hospice on Friday 9 February. Following that, our Stocky Shaun will join the colourful parade alongside other characters across Maidstone as part of the Shaun in the Heart of Kent Parade. Mark your calendars for this exciting event, happening from June 29 to August 30 2024!
A massive thank you to Mrs Dafforn who has watched students from across the different Key Stages take part in this important fundraising and awareness project. Our students have excelled themselves and we can’t wait to share their hard work with you all and Maidstone!
Important dates for your calendar:
Friday 9 February 2024 – We had a non-uniform fundraising day with donations being shared between Place2Be and Heart of Kent Hospice. By lunchtime, we managed to raise an amazing £740.22 via ParentPay and cash donations! Thank you to all the students and our community for your contributions and ongoing support.
Sunday 3 March 2024 – The Shaun the Sheep Fun Run will be taking place at the Cornwallis Academy (Hubbards Lane, Maidstone ME17 4HX). There are different distances to allow for all runners including 10K, 5K and 1K Fancy Dress Fun Run. It would be wonderful to see students and their families dressed up as Shaun the Sheep in the 1K Fun Run, so come along and have some fun and help us support a worthwhile cause.
