Students in Action - Multicultural Awareness Week gives back to Charities
The final day of Multicultural Awareness Week was a vibrant and uplifting culmination of our celebration of diversity. Staff and students alike embraced Cultural Dress Day with enthusiasm, adorning themselves in attire representing their cultural heritage or countries of origin. The school corridors were transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours and patterns, showcasing the rich tapestry of cultures within our community. The atmosphere was joyous as individuals shared stories behind their traditional garments, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds present among us.
The festivities continued with a mouth-watering food tasting festival, where parents generously contributed dishes from various corners of the globe. From fragrant spices of Hong Kong and the Philipines to the tropical flavours of the Caribbean, students and staff indulged in a culinary journey that tantalised the taste buds and celebrated the gastronomic diversity of our community.
The festivities culminated in a thrilling five-a-side football match between Sixth Form students and staff, with the students emerging victorious.
Moreover, the day served as an opportunity to give back as a fundraiser for humanitarian charities, showcasing the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines Multicultural Awareness Week as our school community came together to support these worthy causes. We raised a massive £509.01. Thank you to everyone for their support and contributions.
