Online Safety

Online Safety covers issues relating to the use of technology, such as the Internet, portable devices, electronic communication and digital media. St Simon Stock Catholic School understands that as technology advances new benefits and risks are formed and that we will need to adapt to these. St Simon Stock Catholic School is committed to the safeguarding of its members and as such views the Online Safety policy as part of Safeguarding and Child Protection.

With technology developing so rapidly and enhancing everyday activities it is important to integrate the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the Internet into education and school life. This allows students to learn and understand the benefits and skills associated with technology. so that they are equipped to evaluate what the benefits and risks are to enable them to evaluate situations for themselves safely and then take appropriate actions. The schools Internet access is designed to enhance and extend education. All students will be taught what is acceptable and what is inappropriate. Students will be given clear rules to follow when using Internet for their own safety and these must be adhered to.
