Jubilee Year 2025

Bringing Hope to Others

 On Friday 24 January, we were proud to officially launch the Jubilee Year 2025, joining Catholic schools across the country in celebrating this significant moment as part of CAFOD's official launch day.

Throughout that week and the next, our students explored what the Jubilee Year means to us as a Catholic school through Form assemblies and a special presentation. This is a time for reflection, unity, and action as we come together to live out our mission of Labora cum Amore — Work with Love.

As part of our Jubilee Year celebrations, we are excited to mark this special year with:

• Significant Prayer Days highlighted in our school calendar
• Charitable acts within our local community
• Inter-House competitions that foster teamwork and unity
• Fundraising initiatives to support those in need

Our mission is to spread the message of Hope far and wide, inspiring one another to make a positive difference in our school, our community, and beyond.

What is a Jubilee Year?

We celebrate a Jubilee every 25 years. It’s a very special, holy year of forgiveness and mercy, a time to reset, to renew our relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation.

This year the theme is Pilgrims of Hope

Luce - The Jubilee Mascot

The mascot for the Catholic Church's 2025 Jubilee is Luce, an anime-style character that represents a Catholic pilgrim. The name Luce is Italian for "light".

Luce represents hope and positivity, and is a symbol of the bridge between faith and the digital age.

Luce is depicted wearing a yellow raincoat, boots, a missionary cross, and a pilgrim's staff. Her glowing eyes symbolise hope.

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,

May the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both
humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
